Anime Tomorrow!

^^; Opps. I meant to do this yesterday! So my apologies for the late notice.

Now, on with the details. This Friday, June 29th, we will be having a showing in the Science Building at MUN, room SN-2109 (the big lecture theater located in the corner closest to the Arts Atrium.) We will be starting at 7:30pm, and will run until approximately 10:30 or 11pm, breaking around 9pm for 15-20 minutes. (Following our usual approach, we'll watch four episodes and four episodes.)

This week we'll be watching...(with subtitles, as usual)

Cluster Edge (Recommended for ages 13+, warnings of mild language, bloodless violence [use of guns, explosions, and swords], and potentially frightening scenes)

Agate Fluorite is the new transfer student at the elite school, "Cluster E.A.", in which the sons of many prestigious families from different countries gather to study together. Soon after his enrollment, Agate's unexpected antics and enthusiasm impress many of his schoolmates, including Beryl Jasper, an honors student who is bored with his current way of life. However, unknown to Agate, he was born with a secret power that can create miracles, allowing him to accomplish incredible feats.

and Uta~Kata (Recommended for ages 14+, warnings of mature subject matter and mildly frightening scenes)

On the last day of the school year, 14 year-old Ichika Tachibana comes across an old, cracked mirror in an unused campus building. When Manatsu, a mysterious girl from inside the mirror, steps out and offers her friendship for the summer, she also offers Ichika magical powers. Now, Manatsu must help Ichika unlock the powers of the 12 Djinn in order to complete her magic training... but perhaps this is something that will prove too difficult a task. Some offers may appear too be good to be true and this one just may turn out to do more harm than good.

A NOTE TO ALL PARENTS -
WE TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ACTIONS OR CARE OF YOUR CHILDREN. SHOULD YOUR CHILDREN ATTEND, WE ASK THAT THEY BE SUPERVISED AS NECESSARY. Also, we recommend that young children who may become tired leave during the break, so as not to disrupt the viewing of our second half. Further, these series are presented in the original Japanese language with subtitles. While most members do not speak Japanese fluently, we do attempt to listen to the dialog, and therefore encourage everyone to be quiet and not comment when the episode is running. Please ensure that your child understands these rules before attending - should your child misbehave, act disruptively, or endanger others, they will asked to leave the showing. As we are a MUN club, we maintain a mature, relaxed atmosphere, which we request that your children respect.

Also, should you desire more information about the specific details which have led to our warnings and suggested ages, the information is available on request, by e-mailing info@mun-anime.com or munanime@gmail.com.

MidtermFest!

Hey everyone, this weekend is Midterm Break! And you know what that means....

An entire series over three nights! Each night we'll start at 7:30 in SN-2109, showing 9 episodes on Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th, and 8 on the 18th (Sunday).

This semester's anime of choice is Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto. (If you can pronounce that, color me impressed.)

" The Shogunate is in its final years, and war is fast approaching. When Akizuki Yojiro, a dark and mysterious mercenary, nears something supernatural with some kind of importance to him, the ornament on the end of his sword hilt waves in its direction, his eyes glow mysteriously, and he is driven to go after it. He comes across a traveling theater group who is out for revenge for killing the parents of the group's leader, and whose mysterious playwright likes to secretly help along events of history. Yojiro joins them lending them his skill against their enemies, while dark conspiracy continues to follow behind him."

See you all on Friday!
