It's Fest week!‏

Hello all,
Well, midterm break is coming up and we all know what that means: stress and pain. But when the stress and pain is over, come watch some anime! For those of you who don't know, every midterm break we run a full series of anime. This time, the Fest will run from February 9-21 (this Friday to Sunday), starting at 7:30 every night in A-1043. And we're showing:
Genshiken
This is the story of college freshman Kanji Sasahara and his fellow members of the college club he joins, The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture (aka Genshiken), as he goes shopping for doujinshi, attends conventions and slowly but surely makes his way down the road to fandom. Though technically a comedy, Genshiken would be more accurately described as a humorous documentary about otaku culture.
That's right, we'll be an anime society watching an anime about an anime society. Meta, no? Hope to see you all there (and I challenge you to all to try to spot yourselves!).

Anime Society is Go!‏

Hello all,
We know life hardly seems living since we cancelled last Friday's showing but you can dry your tears because we've rescheduled! We'll be having our showing this Friday instead, February 12, at 7:30 in A-1043 (note that that's 1043, not 1046. It's next door to our normal room). And we're still showing:
Letter Bee

Apparently abandoned by his mother, orphan Lag Seeing is taken as a "letter" by "Letter Bee" Gauche Suede to a town where his aunt raises him. His affection and admiration for Gauche give Lag the ambition to become a Letter Bee himself, carrying mail through the dangerous wasteland between towns on his world. When he becomes a teenager, he makes the trip to the capital to take the examination to become a trainee Letter Bee. En route, he meets the strange, powerful girl-like creature Niche, who becomes his "dingo," a Letter Bee's travelling companion. Lag yearns to find his mother, and discover why she abandoned him, if she did.

Bartender

Genius bartender, Ryu Sasakura makes the most incredible cocktails anyone has ever tasted. Seeking his "Glass of God", individuals from all different walks of life visit his bar. With both a compassionate ear and a godly drink, Ryu helps people with their problems.

Looking forward to seeing all of you that haven't been insitutionalized because of the severe emotional trauma our missed showing caused!

Anime Cancelled Tonight‏

Due to the fact that MUN is closed for the rest of today, we won't be able to get in to have a showing. As well, you should stay home and be safe!

So, there's NO ANIME TONIGHT. Please don't take the risk and come out, thinking we'll be there!

~Genevieve, Society President

Anime Tonight‏

Once MUN announces if it will be closed for the rest of the day, we'll let you know what's up with anime tonight. That announcement should be at about 11, so once it's up we'll be in touch again.
