Last showing of the semester!‏

Hello all,
I'm afraid it's that time again: the last showing of the semester. It'll be on Thursday, April 1, at 7:30 in SN-2109. Everyone got that? Now, as most of you know, it's our spring fest. We'll have food, possibly karaoke and of course, trivia! Answer trivia, win a poster (and abandon hope, all ye who get trivia from my showings - I try to make at least three people cry). Then, ask us trivia and get your revenge (and Pocky, if you can stump us). As we're having all of this other fun, it will be a half showing this time around. And we're showing:
Fairy Tail
Lucy is a 17-year-old girl, who wants to be a full-fledged mage. One day when visiting Harujion Town, she meets Natsu, a young man who gets sick easily by any type of transportation. But Natsu isnt just any ordinary kid, he's a member of one of the world's most infamous mage guilds: Fairy Tail.
Hope to see you all there!

Anime this Friday‏

Hello gang,
Well, it's time for the exec's favourite time of the semester, Member's Choice, when it's not our fault if the showing sucks. Such a sense of relief. Anyway, our Member's Choice is this Friday, March 19, at 7:30 in A-1046. And, as we've managed to pick the two members whose personalities and tastes are most divergent, it should be quite an interesting night. We're showing:
Battle Programmer Shirase
Battle Programmer Shirase, also known as BPS, is a free programmer with super hacking abilities who doesn't work for money. What he does work for is certainly something that only people like him would appreciate. But, his demeanor doesn't suit the jobs he is hired for. With the evil King of America causing trouble via the internet, Shirase is nothing but busy as each new adventure brings even more interesting people into the picture.
Kiki's Delivery Service
When an apprentice witch turns thirteen, she must leave her home in order to hone her craft. Although Kiki's sole talent is broom-flying, she sets out for adventure with her cat Jiji. They settle in a charming seaside town, where Kiki establishes her own delivery service. As Kiki learns to balance independence with responsibility, her kind heart wins her many new friends in this coming-of-age tale.
Hope to see you all there!

Anime Does the Time Warp‏

Hello all!
Well, I hope everyone had a good break and enjoyed the fest (and if you don't go, shame, shame, shame on you. Anyone who misses the fest is a terrible person). Anyway, we once again have anime this Friday, March 5, in A-1046 at 7:30. And it's a theme night this week. We're proud to introduce Retro Night, when we'll be showing:
Astro Boy
Creating a robotic boy in the image of his recently deceased son Tobio, Professor Tenma thought nothing could go wrong now that his beloved child had been "reborn"... that is, until he comes to realize that this invention could never replace his son. Before long, however, the robot is kidnapped and spirited away to a robot circus in America, where he is soon rescued by Dr. Ochanomizu, and taken into his care. Tobio is given the new name Tetsuwan Atom, and transforms into Japan's crime-fighting hero, although his anti-violent pacifist views and overall childlike naivety tend to clash with his battles often. This is not the first anime series, but it is the first one with a continuing plot. Arguably, the Father of Anime, Tezuka Osamu's, masterpiece.
Sally the Witch

Sally is the princess of the "witch world", Astoria, who longs to visit the mortal realm - presumably to make friends her own age. One day, Sally teleports to the "mid world" (Earth), where she uses her magic to fend off a couple of burglars menacing two young schoolgirls. Immediately befriended by her new acquaintances - tomboyish Yoshiko Hanamura (known affectionately as "Yotchan") and girly Sumire Kasugano - Sally decides to stay on indefinitely, leading to various kinds of mischief in the best Japanese tradition. Sally tries to keep her supernatural abilities secret, assuming the role of a human child. One of the first magical girl animes. That's right, we can thank Sally for all of the naked transformation sequences (thank you, Sally!).

Hope to see you all there as we journey back to the origins of anime. And remember, if you all show up and have a good time, maybe, just maybe, the Anime Society will do the Time Warp again!
