Alright everybody, last week was a phenomenal success and this week we hope it'll be the same!
(As per usual, we'll be in EN-2006 at 7:30pm)
Last year, for our midterm fest, we showed the series Fullmetal Alchemist in its entirety. It was around that time that a movie for the series was announced - and it was in Japanese theatres that summer. Now, finally, it's out and we can show it to you guys! But if you didn't catch the series, or are a little rusty, fear not! A one-hour special aired on Japanese television called Reflections. We like to call it FMA-in-an-hour. As you might guess, it's a recap of the entire series in the span of an hour. It's a perfect way to refresh your memory before...
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shambala
Munich, Germany, 1923. Two years have passed since Edward Elric was dragged from his own world to ours, leaving behind his country, his friends and his younger brother, Alphonse. Stripped of his alchemical powers, he has been all this time researching rocketry together with Alphonse Heiderich, a young man who resembles his own brother, hoping to one day find a way back home. His efforts so far had proven fruitless, but after lending a hand to a troubled gipsy girl, Edward is thrown in a series of events that can wreak havoc in both worlds. Meanwhile, at his own world, Alphonse Elric ventures deeper into the mysteries of alchemy in search for a way to reunite with his older brother.
But of course, there's still time left in the night! So, after we get all that FMA out of our systems, it'll be time to watch:
Slayers Return
Outrageous enemies such as secret organizations aiming to dominate the world and mysterious strongest fighting forces attack Lina and Naga one after another for legendary "treasure" lying in a village in which Elves used to live. In addition, an immortal monster not affected by attacking magic appears and drive Lina and Naga into a terrible pinch. What they should do?
Also, for those of you who have memberships, the tapelist is available on the sidebar. If you want to rent a tape, just e-mail mae@mun-anime.com.

Rooms Confirmed! (and more!)
Alright, peoples, our room is now confirmed; we will indeed be in EN-2006. As such, the poster is now online for your viewing pleasure!
Also, our good friend and former president, Ron Keating has been working on an Anime-related tabletop RPG for many years now, and has recently decided to create a public forum where anyone can come and contribute to or discuss the game. It's free, and the game is free, and not the sole property of any particular person. If you want to check it out, head on over to...

First Showing of the Semester!
Hey guys, the first showing of the semester is coming your way this Friday, the 20th!
Even though I sent an e-mail nearly two weeks ago, I have yet to hear back from the people in charge of booking us our room. However, I'm going to call them tomorrow and try and confirm something. Regardless, we should be in EN-2006, as expected. Check back in a day or two in case this changes.
Anyhoo, we've got quite a show coming your way this weekend, including something I know a lot of you have been asking us to show. That's right...
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII, the Planet has begun healing itself from the devastating attack from Meteor, but a strange disease known as "Geostigma" has arisen. Meanwhile three unknown figures appear and begin searching for Jenova's remains to complete the Reunion. The fate of Cloud Strife and the rest of the world are to be revealed!
Also, as an encore to the movie, we'll be showing Last Order: Final Fantasy VII, which is an anime rendition of two flashbacks that took place in the game.
But we're not just leaving it there. We're bringing you a hilarious series preview of...
Pani Poni Dash!
Rebecca Miyamoto was born to an American father and a Japanese mother. Rebecca enrolled at M.I.T. at the age of nine and graduated at ten with a triple major. So, what's an eleven-year-old genius to do? Become a teacher, of course. Parodying everything from Kill Bill, to Super Mario Bros, to Internet emoticons, this series is jam-packed with endless hilarity.
We'll be showing between 3–4 episodes of Pani Poni Dash, depending on how much time we have left to the night. It's looking to be quite the showing, so don't miss it!

Old website finally fixed...
I'm sure many of you remember the old, terribly outdated webpage for this society. It was a big problem for us, as it was the link Google/Yahoo/etc associated with us, as well as a handful of other sites. Well, I finally managed to meet with someone from the Computer Science department and gain access to the files... so after nearly five years, the old thing has finally been pulled down and replaced with a redirection to the new site. Now, if you go to the old link, it automatically brings you here.
Don't worry, I didn't just delete the whole thing; I backed it up. I'll soon put up a link to the archive, for nostalgic purposes.

Welcome to Winter 2006!
Happy New Year!
Hey all, welcome to a brand new year, and a brand new semester with the Anime Society! MUN starts back up on the 9th, and I've already submitted room requests for the whole semester. I've requested that we be in our usual spot (EN-2006) and at the usual time. We're likely to get it, but I can't say for sure, so be sure to check back in a week or so for updates.
As it stands now, our first showing will be on the 20th; this way all the dates fall perfectly with mid-term break and the last day of lectures.
Also, I've made a slick calendar for the MUN semester, with all the showings for the semester highlighted~ Feel free to print yourself out a copy - it's perfect for putting in you binder, or posting on your wall for a quick calendar reference. Of course, be sure to check back in a week or so to see if I've had to make any changes.

Stay tuned, we'll be announcing what we're showing for our first night soon!
